New designs

so the new designs are being made as we speak! Very busy trying to finish all these exciting new designs and a twist on some of the old ones too.

Photo shoot is being planned and organised and the collection will be available fully from the end of October. All ready for Christmas and those winter months

Loving keeping my designs in my masato bag

Me again

So I’m here again. Today has been a busy day shopping, getting tickets to see a medium, taking the kids to macdonalds and ordering wool for new designs. Oh yes and won an award for another business I run.

Yes it’s been a busy day so far and it’s not been over yet.

Who believes in mediums? I have seen several over the years and I do believe in spirits and have been told I’m very spiritual too. I would love to know what you all think.

Can’t wait to get started on some new designs I’m hoping the wool will be here very soon so I can make a start as the photo shoot will be very soon.

Would you like to see behind the sciences video and pics of the photo shoot? Let me know.

All change!

Wow this blog has been neglected and I’m sorry to my followers here!

But.. I’m back. It has been all change here I have been designing my new autumn winter collection. It’s going to be all about the chunky knits this season.

So let me let you all know what’s happening and has happened .. Within the time I haven’t blogged, I have redecorated a house in less than two weeks and moved out including flooring for the whole place too. Within this time my auntie died suddenly so that was a great shock to us all. This was a very hard time for us and in some ways I am glad of the distraction of a new house. I am so grateful for all my family that helped me I couldn’t have done it without them.

My daughter has turned 17 years old and yes I feel very old now!! My niece has been accepted into uni which I am very proud of she has such a bright future ahead of her.

My niece is also one of my models and her younger sister this time is also going to be modelling for me. Very exciting!!

So I’m knitting like crazy finishing off designs. Planning YouTube videos. Tutorials and vlogs coming soon too. Which I hope you all watch.

Ok I think that’s all for now. Probably forgot so much to tell you all but I will be blogging more so will be able to tell you more as I remember.

Big Changes!

Over the last week or so I have made some big changes and big decisions.  These include a lot of thought about my fears and my future.

Some big changes are always a little difficult I think especially if you have to make the final decision yourself.  As many of you probably know I own Peggy’s Collection which is a UK based knitwear company and I design knitting patterns too.  I also own Peggy’s Yarns which I hand dyed yarns and sold various knitting accessories.

I am afraid one of my big decisions was to close Peggy’s Yarns.   The main reason for this is because I want to concentrate on my design work and it just simply was not making enough money to continue.

I would like to thank all my supporters through Peggy’s Yarns though and I have made some great friends through it.  I will still very much be on the knitting scene just not with my own yarns.  In a way it makes me quite excited to try other people’s yarns and use them in my designs.

I have also decided to start a counselling course.  A few years ago while I was doing my law degree I studied psychology.  I have a diploma in this and I loved the work very much.  So I have plunged into the world of assignments and studying once again.

I believe this will be a rewarding career for me as it will help others as well as enriching my life too.

I will be carrying on with this blog featuring motivational posts, beauty, knitting and my life in general.  So I hope you will all continue to follow my blog and enjoy it.

Sorry if I have rambled a little on this blog post but I had lots to tell you all.

Be grateful

I think this is something we all need to do in life. Being grateful for the things we have is a simple thing yet we do sometimes take them for granted.

Family and friends are so important and something we should always feel grateful for. I moved back to norfolk around 6 years ago and my family helped me so much. For this and so many other things they have done I will always be grateful.

The above quote is so true. We are always looking to better ourselves and get the latest gadget or have more than we do. But if we were grateful for the things we already have including people and love I’m sure we would all see how rich we truly are.

I have been writing down each day the things I am grateful for. Sounds a little crazy! But it really does work.  When you are grateful for the things you have and the moments you are grateful for it makes you realise what a great life you have. It also opens up lots more opportunities to you.

If you want any changes in your life you need to do as the above quote says. If you continue doing the same things then you will get the same results.

I could go into so much detail with this blog post but don’t want to make it too long. If you like these kind of posts please comment and I will write some more 🙂

Beauty comes from within

I think we all worry at some time about how we look and self image. When I was younger my friend had blonde curly hair and I had dark straight hair. So I decided to dye bits of it blonde which looked awful lol I was scared of going to school but when I did everyone said how great it looked!

I think no matter how you look you will always look for and think there are ways to improve your looks.

I think we should take the advice of the picture above. The older I get the more less worried I become about how I look. Remember beauty comes from within.

I’m back

I’ve been slacking a little recently with my blog so I apologise to all my readers. Life has got in the way a little but I’m back again.

We have celebrated my nieces birthday heidi was 18 years old and wow that makes me feel so old! I got her a Pandora charm for her to keep forever and my mum and myself had some flowers with a balloon delivered to her sixth form for her 🙂

The next birthday we celebrate will be mine. One that is a milestone lol if I could choose a cake I would have this one, isn’t it fabulous!

I have lots of hand dyed yarns going into my peggy’s yarns shop this week but something else new are these minion stitch markers. So cute and selling well peggy’s yarns

Rolo is getting bigger, nearly 11 weeks old now, still as tiny. He has had his first injection and we can’t wait to take him for a walk to the local park. The weather has been beautiful recently so hoping it stays like this now.

My mum made me this cushion the other day. Love it and it goes great with my colour scheme in my living room. She obviously also loves to knit and she always has to have something on the needles.

I haven’t made any progress on my socks but I have been knitting a commission which is on a deadline. But then I will finish all the socks! Including my own pattern I am designing

Ask for what you want

This is something I have been saying for quite some time. I love this Madonna quote and I believe if you get it straight in your mind what you want you can achieve anything you wish.

I have been wanting to change my website for a while now. So I asked someone whose website I admired and they told me how to do it. So simple! I now have a new website with my etsy shop items imported into it, so easy to manage and update. New website

I have added lots more stitch markers and beautiful unique yarns.

We have also celebrated both my son’s birthdays since I wrote my last blog post. My youngest son was 8 years old and my eldest son was 14 years old.  How time flies!

We also added an addition to the family.  Meet Rolo. He is a 8 week Chihuahua and so adorable. The children love them and the early mornings are so worth it to have them.

Of course there has been lots of knitting going on too. I am knitting a chunky knit cardigan for a commission.  I still have two pairs of socks on the go.  Big thanks to @lizmakesit my friend on Twitter encouraging me with the socks and offering hugs on any bad days I have.

Mummy Misfit and more

I have always enjoyed reading, as a child I would sit for hours escaping into the world of a book.  I loved classic books such as Anne of green gables, Narnia and so many others. I have a kindle now for my many books but this doesn’t replace my book shelf with many classics that will always remain favourites with me.

Since being on Twitter I was introduced to a lovely lady who was an author called Amanda Egan @mummy_misfit I started tweeting her and wanted to read her first book which was Diary of a Mummy Misfit.

It sounded great and as a Mum myself with a little boy and could associate with a lot of the story line.  Well who couldn’t if you are a parent and wait at the school gates no matter what school. I won’t tell you too much as I would ruin the book for you.  This book had me hooked from the very start. I love the style of writing Amanda uses.  I couldn’t wait to finish this book but was sad when I had.

Of course I had to buy the next one! The Darker Side of mummy misfit was the sequel. This one wasn’t as light hearted as the first as you probably realised from the title.  This book was as addictive as the first and I would highly recommend them both to anyone.

Over Christmas I bought Christmas Deliverence by Amanda Egan. I wanted something to read over the holiday period and this book was great. So heart warming and after a few pages wanted to know more about each character.

I can’t express how much I love Amanda’s books.  After a while of not reading so much and not having time to read. I have once again found my reading bug since finding out about this great author. I have many more of her books that I am reading now which includes stilettos and stubble.  Yes I am engrossed in the book already.

My joy for reading has returned and I would love to know if any of you make time now for reading?

Hand dyed yarns

I have been quite busy the last week dyeing yarns, knitting and looking after my family.

I love hand dyeing yarns and seeing the colour combinations I can come up with. All of my yarns are one off unique skeins.
The first ones my son named galaxy, perfect for socks as these skeins are matching.

The next hand dyed yarn is called menace as the colours are red and black.

I’ve also made some stitch markers in the last week. My favourite are these Jack skellington ones.

I’ve also been doing some test knitting this week and decided to knit a grey throw for my living room which is going to take me ages but I’m enjoying it… far

Will post a free pattern for the throw when I’ve finished it.

Let me know if you would like any particular tutorial or blog post.
