Today is the 1st January 2015 the stet of a fresh new year. I love the first day of the year time to make plans and changes for the better.
I am spinning some beautiful fibre from hilltopcloud at the moment with my drop spindle from spin city UK. It’s very relaxing and a dream to work with. I am determined this year to do more spinning so watch this space.
Loving my candles at the moment especially this one that my sister bought me for xmas. It’s actually a tea light holder and the buttons really shine through. She knows me very well.
A lot of things for me are changing this year for the better. I am finishing my professional life course and counselling course as I believe I can help others some how with this skill.
What will be changing for you all this year?
Over Christmas we have had a lot of glass jars emptied. I use them for a number of things which I would like to share with you all.
Of course you can use them to store things in or for crafts such as painting. But here are a few other imaginative ideas
With dark nights still here popping a candle inside a glass jar is a lovely idea and you can always decorate it too
Another great idea is to grow herbs in on your kitchen window sill. This idea we are doing this year for sure
Pop a little poise of flowers into a glass jar. Looks delightful especially if the flowers were picked from your garden or in the wild.
Having a party? Why not serve your drinks in glass jars with a funky straw. Great for all ages
Then top it off with individual birthday trifles. So easy to make and could be made the night before the party
Hope you have enjoyed these ideas for glass jars. Let me know your favourites or anything you do
I have ordered candles from One Stop Pamper Shop in the past for my niece and she was very pleased with them. When I wanted a lovely xmas scent for my house I decided to order a small kilner cracker candle in the smell of xmas fruitcake. It smells delicious!
It isn’t an over bearing smell at all which some candles can be and it is lasting for ages. You get a delicate crackle and hint of smoke like a real fireplace.
I never knew photographing a lit candle would be so hard! Hope you like the pics, tried my best.
I will be ordering a lot more candle from this shop in the new year and I think you should all head over to etsy and favourite her shop ready for the new year to begin.
Note:- this is not a sponsored post
I have been making lots of candle recently. It started off being a project for my youngest son to take part in but I really enjoyed experimenting with them too. Above you can see a jam jar one with coloured wax and a pretty gingham bow tied around it. This is lasting for ages.
I have also made some cupcake style ones that don’t burn for so long but are super cute. If you would like to see a tutorial on how to make the candles please comment below.
On the needles this week has been mainly orders. I have made a few chunky knit scarves and slippers, a tie and a pretty pair of pink socks for a lovely lady. Also a pair of sweet little mittens for a xmas decoration
I have to try and finish my son’s rainbow crochet blanket this week amongst casting on some other goodies for xmas presents which I will share with you all.
